" The exhaust system is meticulously designed to enhance engine output while, thanks to its three-way catalyst technology, also reducing exhaust emissions. " Slipper-type back torque-limiting clutch greatly facilitates braking/downshifting from high speed. This contributes to outstanding power delivery characteristics in the high-speed range, while the design also helps to minimize intake noise. " A forced-air intake system is adopted to increase intake efficiency by using the natural airflow during riding to pressurize the air in the air box. Titanium intake valves are lightweight. " This engine features forged aluminum pistons to take maximum advantage of the power characteristics. " To maximize rider comfort as well as power output, the engine adopts a coupling-type balancer that rotates in the opposite direction as the crankshaft. Instead, combustion torque continues to build, giving the rider more linear throttle response with awesome power and traction out of the corners. This overcomes the inherent fluctuations in inertial torque during each engine revolution, and the accompanying peaky torque characteristics. Unlike typical inline-four engine design, where the two outer and two inner pistons move together in pairs with 180° intervals, the crossplane crankshaft has each connecting rod 90° with a unique firing order of 270° - 180° - 90° - 180°. " Crossplane crankshaft technology proven in victory after victory on MotoGP machines provides a high-tech uneven firing interval.

My Love Affair with the 2010 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 ...

Crotch rocket users are getting more bold and brazen nowadays.
Authorities are on the lookout for a brazen biker who likes to harass horse riders.
Twice in the past month, a teen on a sport motorcycle has confronted equestrian trail riders in Copper Canyon and revved his engine in an attempt to scare their horses and throw the rider, according to town officials.
Motorcycles are not allowed on the trails, which are located on Army Corps of Engineers land.
The first incident was reported at the end of January. The second incident occurred on Feb. 3rd around 3:00 p.m. on the trail just east of Chinn Chapel Road.
The "crotch rocket" type sports bike is painted yellow and purple or dark blue. The suspect is described as a slim male between 14-16 years old and around 5' 6" tall. He wore a dark helmet with a full mask so his face was not visible. Witnesses said that his helmet, clothes and bike appeared new.

Confederate P120 Fighter Breaks Cover
Confederate Motorcycles is back with their latest motorcycle post-Katrina, the P120 Fighter. Taking similar cues from the Wraith, sans the giant carbon front spars, the Fighter is made out of copious amounts of the polished hard stuff. Built around an aluminum frame, the center-piece of the bike is the machine’s 1966cc v-twin motor, making 160hp and 145lbs•ft of torque.
You can get your first glipse of the P120 Fighter at the Quail Motorsports Gathering in Carmel, California this coming August 14th, which is a part of the famous Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
No word on price or delivery times yet, but figure on somewhere along the lines of a donor kidney or unicorn tears. You would think for the price though, some snazier wheels would come with the package. Maybe that’s just how things are done down South.
Honda Released Five Newest Motorcycles Models
New York: Honda Company in the United States introduced five new motorcycles in 2010. Motorcycle sites such as preaching, not long ago, five motorcycles, among others Saber, Stateline, Interstate, Honda ST1300, and the Shadow RS V. Honda Product Manager Bill Savino said the motorcycle is the fifth new model.Honda Saber 1312 cc activated 52-degree V-Twin with fuel injection program. Vehicles available in black and red candy. Saber 2010 has antilock brake system (ABS) and will be available in April 2010 for U.S. $ 12,799.
For bikers who love the classic style, with Stateline Honda engine and stylish black curved frame may be an option. Stateline also supported by 52 degree 1312 cc Twin. The motorcycle will be available starting later in February with black and dark red candy for U.S. $ 11,699.
ABS version will be available for U.S. $ 12,699.
The Interstate Honda designed for long trips with wooden floors, glass front, and exclusive new custom leather-wrapped hard saddlebags. Interstate 1312 cc to be launched in February 2010 is available in black and blue pearl with a retail price of U.S. $ 12,749.
Another is Honda Shadow RS V. This vehicle is activated liquid-cooled V-Twin engine with 745 cc fuel injection program. Hospital Shadow will arrive in dealerships in March next Honda. There are a variety of colors, namely silver and white pearls. Honda Shadow V RS sells for $ 7799.
Last Honda ST1300. This bike is activated 1261 cc V4 engine with fuel injection program. Available with or without ABS, ST1300 comes with a three-way adjustable seats, customized motorized windshield, saddle bags and dual full coverage bodywork. ST1300 will be available in March later. However, the current price has not been announced

BMW Recalls 2005-2007 R1200GS Adventure Motorcycles for Fuel Tank Bolt Problem
BMW is recalling certain 2005 through 2007 R1200GS Adventure motorcycles manufactured from December 7, 2005 through September 26, 2007.
The fuel tank front attachment bolts can work loose allowing the bolts to come into contact with the fork leg if the handlebar is turned a significant amount.
The number of units affected has not been announced.

MV Agusta Recalls 2010 F4 for Air Cleaner Problem
MV Agusta Motor S.P.A. (MV Agusta) is recalling certain model year 2010 F4 motorcycles manufactured from February 10 through April 19, 2010.
These motorcycles are equipped with an air filter frame, P/N 8000B4061, which may lift out of position, allowing intake air to bypass the filter.

BMW Recalls 2007-2009 K1200 and R1200 Series Motorcycles for Brake Line Problem
BMW is recalling certain model year 2007 through 2009 R1200 and K1200 series motorcycles manufactured from August 2006 through May 2009.
Due to the current routing of the front brake lines, it is possible that during riding, and therefore associated vibration, the brake lines could be under strain. If the vibration/strain is significant, the brake line could split and start to develop a leak.

BMW is recalling certain model year 2008 and 2009 F650GS and F800GS motorcycles manufactured from September 27, 2007 through March 30, 2009.
The drive chains may not have been produced to specification. As a result, over time the drive chain could break.

BMW Recalls 2007-2008 G650X, G650X Country, and G650X Moto Motorcycles for Roll Gear Pin Mounting Attachment Failure
BMW is recalling certain model year 2007 and 2008 G650X Country, G650X Challenge, and G650X Moto motorcycles manufactured from November 29, 2006 through May 19, 2008.
Over time, the roll gear pin's mounting attachment could break. If this occurs, it would be possible for fragments of the attachment to become trapped between the drive chain and the rear sprocket.
